2026-2027 Message from the Principal 

Dear Butler High School Students and Families, 
 
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful and well-deserved summer break. As I reflect on the 2025–2026 school year, I am filled with tremendous pride and gratitude for what our Butler community accomplished together. Because of the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families, Butler High School experienced one of our strongest years of academic growth. 
 
We demonstrated academic growth in all four End-of-Course assessments—Biology, English II, Math I, and Math III. We also improved in all but one of the accountability indicators that determine our North Carolina School Report Card grade. Current projections indicate a remarkable increase in our overall school performance in just one year. 
 
These accomplishments are the direct result of our shared commitment to excellence. Last year's theme, "Pursuing Excellence Together," became more than words—it became our way of operating. Through greater alignment and a relentless focus on student success, we achieved significant improvements. Thank you to every student and every family for your support, consistency, and partnership throughout the year. 
 
As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, our new theme will be "Excellence Refined: The Journey to an “A"! We will build on our momentum by refining our practices, strengthening our systems, and continuing our pursuit of excellence with one ambitious goal: moving Butler High School from a School Report Card grade of a B to an A. 
 
This year, we ask every family to partner with us by prioritizing: 
• Consistent daily attendance 
• Arriving at school on time and ready to learn 
• Maximizing learning opportunities in every class 
• Striving for the highest levels of academic achievement 
 
Every day matters. Every class matters. Every student matters. Thank you in advance for your continued collaboration. I look forward to celebrating our success and welcoming our Bulldogs back for another outstanding school year.
